UNESCO Delegates Visit

On 24th July 2019 we were delighted to receive a visit at the Lisdoonvarna Spa Wells by a number of distinguished visitors, including two UNESCO delegates; a Clare County Councillor, a marine biologist; staff from Burren GeoPark and from Geological Survey Ireland.

We welcomed from UNESCO Prof Zhizhong Zhao from China and Sanja Marija Pellis from Slovenia; Clare County Councillor Joe Garrihy of West Clare Municipal District; Dr Siobhan Power from Geological Survey Ireland; marine biologist Cormac McGinley; Dr Eamon Doyle and Tim Madden from our own Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark.

Our visitors tasted the water, tested the ‘gym machines’ and got a history lesson from Pat, John & some of our regular volunteers.

We are so grateful to everyone that helped showcase the Spa Wells.

Thank you to Lisa for the bespoke candles and thank you to Debbie for the fab photos.Clare
